Active Members
A veterinary technician who has worked in a shelter (private, municipal, animal control) and would be eligible for their VTS, and meets at least one of these criteria:

Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science Degree in Veterinary Technology

Credentialed by their state and/or province as a veterinary technician

Two (full time) years of experience working in the area of shelter medicine veterinary technology, as certified by their manager/supervisor or veterinarian

Subscribing Members
Anyone who is not eligible for active membership but is interested in ASMVT's goals. Subscribing members may serve on committees with Board approval. We welcome anyone interested in shelter medicine or animal welfare: students of veterinary technology, veterinarians, veterinary assistants, animal care associates, behavior specialists, humane officers, volunteer managers, or those working in placement (from foster to adoption to rescue to return to field and anything in between).
